  1 Day Crisis Counselling

Effective Intervention In Difficult Times

The most challenging part of any crisis is the management is reactions. True crises have several critical dimensions in common, any one of which, if handled poorly, can disrupt or perhaps destroy best efforts at managing any remaining opportunities to resolve the situation and recover, rehabilitate, or retain reputation. Failure to respond and communicate in ways that meet community standards and expectations will result in a series of negative outcomes.

This seminar presents a three-stage framework and intervention model that is helpful for crisis workers to provide acute crisis and counselling services. Participants will be introduced to the ACT Model developed by Dr. Albert Roberts, a Professor of Criminal Justice and Social Work, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Livingston College Campus, Rutgers--the State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick and Piscataway, New Jersey, USA.
